Order Minimums & Order Criteria

Cakes start at $125, Custom cakes also require some creative freedom. I do not copy other artist's work. Limitations will apply to fondant work as I'm mainly a buttercream cake artist. However I am up for a challenge sometimes, but just note the price of this work will reflect my time. I do have an art style that I tend to gravitate towards (clean, modern elegance), I will usually stay within this style unless I'm inspired to take another route. This will all be communicated during the finalizing process. Order details must be finalized within 2 weeks of your collection date (or as soon as possible).

Quotes

As stated above, all cakes start at $125 for a 4” size and go up based on size, design, flavour etc. I can provide a generalized quote if you send me an email stating what you’re looking for. The easiest way to do this is by sending me the following: an inspiration photo, how many people you’re planning to serve, what flavours you’re looking for and your date of choice. But before you do this please look at my availability first to see if I’m available which you can find here.

Generalized quotes are a ballpark, or rough estimate of the price range, this I can offer you for free. If you would like an exact quote with the final and total price of your cake, you will have to purchase a booking fee of $30 which you can find with my form. This covers my time should you choose to not want to proceed, as pricing out cakes in full takes a larger chunk of time than you would think! If you decide to proceed with the cake this will go directly towards your order.

All quotes, for cakes, delivery or otherwise will expire after 6 months. I cannot accept payment in full outside of 6 months from your order date.

Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

Due to the perishable nature of my product and how I’m unable to control how my products are transported or stored once they leave my property or possession, I do not accept returns, provide refunds or exchanges. If, for some reason, you are unsatisfied with your order and feel it does not meet your expectations, please contact me within 24 hours of the date you received your order and provide me with a detailed description of the issue including photos if necessary. I will make every effort to address your concerns and make sure you are happy with your experience. Due to the perishable nature of my product, all claims submitted after the 24 hour pick up/delivery window will not be eligible for a store credit. I do not make cash refunds of any kind, store credit only if eligible.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be submitted two weeks or more before your fulfillment date for a store credit. After that, I will not be able to issue a store credit or honour any cancellations. This is including any mandate changes due to Covid-19. I require a $50 deposit for you to secure a spot into my calendar. No deposit = No cake.

Payment

I require an initial deposit of at least $50 to secure bookings. To move ahead from finalization I require 50% of the order total, then the remaining balance due a week prior to pickup/delivery (2 weeks for weddings or large events). If you don’t make your payments on time your order will be subject to termination without compensation.

Modifications or Changes

Modifications to your order will incur additional fees and modifications can’t always be guaranteed . Due to me taking the time to sit down with each person to discuss their order details in depth, any changes after finalization will incur additional fees on top of any price changes from modifications. Modifications are not considered inside of 1 week of your order date. Please note, limitations can apply to certain modification requests based on my weekly schedule.

Modification fees on top of any price changes from modifactions:

• Design: $25

• Colour Scheme: $15

• Flavour: $15

• Size/Quantity: $15

• Date: $15 (changing to an available date only)

• Wedding Changes: $50

Pickups & Delivery

Please schedule a pickup time and stick to it. I have a 15 minute grace area for pickups, if you’re later than 15 minutes you’ll have to reschedule your pick up when I have an opening later in the day. If you think you’ll be later than your scheduled pickup time please send me a quick text to let me know, I have ongoing pickups to juggle throughout the day as well as baking production, and most of the time I can’t stop what I’m doing to bring a late order out. I base my work day around my pickup times.

My pickup hours are:

Friday | 12pm-4pm

Saturday | 10am-4pm (my most flexible day, pickup times can be adjusted)

Sunday | 4pm-6pm

Exact pickup location will be given AFTER a 50% payment is received.

Delivery is available for these time slots as well, if you choose to forgo a delivery charge you understand that if the cake gets damaged during transport under YOUR CARE it is no longer Bakes by Kenz’s responsibility. Tiered cakes are not available for pickup and must be delivered (charged will be added onto the final total) Cake pickup is purely up to my discretion if I believe the cake will not fare well with unexperienced cake transporting drivers! If I think a cake won’t be safe for you to transport I will let you know.
